OFS FEATURES |
| |
| |
| Typical applications are: |
• | Environmental monitoring for smokestacks |
• | Process control. |
| The OFS (Optical Flow Sensor) measures the velocity at which pollution moves out of a smokestack. Power companies, petrochemical plants, steel manufacturers, and other emissions regulated industries can use this information combined with other results to calculate volumetric flow and thus save money on emissions penalties or fines. |
| Revolutionary, non-intrusive setup greatly reduces maintenance |
| | The OFS is a patented advanced, continuous flow measurement system for large and small stacks or ducts. The instrument is isolated from the flue gas. This non-contacting method ensures reduced maintenance. |
| True cross-stack, path-averaged result is more representative than traditional methods |
| | OFS provides the true, average velocity across the diameter between the optical sensors along this path. In a typical installation, the resolution of the velocity measurement is 0.1 m/s, with an accuracy traced back to NIST wind tunnel standard. OFS has virtually no drift. |
| Calibration and other checks verify all system components |
| | OFS meets all forty CFR 75 requirements, including daily calibration zero and span checks. System components and interference checks are completed on a continuous basis. |
| Velocity measurement independent of temperature, pressure and density of flue gas |
| | OFS measures flue gas velocity. Gas composition, wet or dry, hot or cold, has no influence on the resulting velocity. |
